An afternoon of elegance: KYS house annual hi-tea of 2024

As the dawn of a new year closes in, there’s a buzz of excitement in the air and what better way to celebrate the triumphs and memories of 2024 than with an event that brings the whole school together? On November 27th, the students of Kolej Yayasan Saad gathered for the highlight of the year: the annual House Hi-Tea, an evening brimming with anticipation and thrill.

The elegance of the ‘Masquerade Ball’ theme was perfectly captured and brought to life at the grand banquet hall of Bayou Lagoon. Students, teachers, and staff donned colourful gowns, sparkling accessories, and masks, creating a mysterious and mystic vibe straight out of the 18th century.

The event kicked off with heartfelt speeches from Mirza and Sara, the masterminds behind this enthralling event. Moving on, the crowd settled in for a display of montages from the three houses, Razak, Rahman, and Hussein, showcasing the memorable house events throughout the year while indulging themselves in a delicious buffet spread. 

However, the real fun began when Insyirah Qadriah hosted the Lucky Draw session. Names were spun on a giant wheel, and the crowd cheered as teachers and staff won exciting prizes.

Then, began the most eagerly awaited moment, the performances. The stage came alive as bands from different batches, including Purnama, Gelora, Gerhana, and Elysium, rocked the hall with their energy and talent. Soloists Aifa and Affan also stole the show by captivating the audience with their beautiful voices.

As the evening began winding down, there was one last surprise left, a big announcement of the winner of the 2024 House Cup, and the coveted trophy went to none other than Razak House. 

With the event wrapped up, everyone headed to the photobooths to snap some fun pictures. Dragging friends and colleagues, everyone excitedly picked out props and figured out poses for their pictures.  

Before we knew it, it was time to return after a day of fun and camaraderie. Exhausted but satisfied, students reflected on an unforgettable day, already looking forward to what the next year would bring.
