Parent-Teacher’s Day, formerly known as Family Day, was held on 6 July 2019 for the Form 2 and Form 4 students. The objective of the event is to allow teachers and parents to discuss the students’ performance in school. It also allowed teachers and parents to create solutions to remedy any problems the students might have.

The registration began at 8:30 a.m. at the admin foyer. After the registration, parents received their child’s results slip for their Mid-year Examination. Discussion between teachers and parents started afterwards at the allocated venues.

The discussion between the principal, Mr Tan Cheh Li, and the Form 2 parents started in the Great Hall at 9:00 a.m., while the discussion with the Form 4 parents started at 11:00 a.m. Mr Tan presented the statistics of the recent Mid-year Examination results and addressed things to be done in order to improve the students’ academic performance.  After that, a question and answer session between the parents and the principal was held.

At 1:00 p.m., students, parents and teachers had their lunch at the Dining Hall. Delicious food was served by the Dining Hall staff. The discussion session with the teachers continued until 3:00 p.m.

The Parent-Teacher’s Day was indeed a busy day. However, it really helped the students, parents and teachers to communicate clearly on things that needed to be discussed. Muhammad Imran Iman, a Form 4 student, claimed that the event helped him to understand his academic-related problems better. To quote him, “I got a clearer understanding on how to improve and maintain my academic performance through Parent-Teacher Day. I hope this will push me to during future exams.”
