On the 23rd of February 2019, nineteen students from KYS participated in the Scrabble Gala 8 which was held in Mesamall, Nilai. This national level competition was organised by the Scholar’s Scrabble Club and was rated by the Malaysian Scrabble Association. A total of 134 participants from 24 secondary schools from eight states took part in the competition. There were three different categories-novice, intermediate and advanced.
Two of our participants played in secondary intermediate category, one played in secondary advanced category and the rest played in secondary novice category.
We left the school at 7:00 a.m. and reached Mesamall around 9:00 a.m. The participants were given a short briefing and the first game started at 9:30. There was a break time at 12:30 p.m. for all the players to have lunch. The prize giving ceremony was held at 6:00 p.m. From our school, Dzuldiniy Husain obtained the second place in the novice category and seven of our participants received consolation prizes.
