KUALA LUMPUR, 2 MAY – With the instalment of the new KYSER Committee 2021-2023, Naylee Zamri, Class 2019 joins the Cemerlang Editorial Board as the new Editor-In-Chief (EIC) for the KYSER section.
Naylee brings with her experience in leadership and writing. During her days in Kolej Yayasan Saad (KYS), she served as the Deputy Head Girl and Treasurer for the Athletics and the Science & Mathematics societies.
The new Editor-In-Chief is an aspiring doctor, having just completed her foundation programme in University Malaya. With a deep passion in writing, Naylee is no stranger to Cemerlang has she has previously published two stories; “Only Elephants Should Wear Ivory” and co-authored “Raya Right This Season” with none other than her own predecessor, Muiz Zafri Mustamir.

Succeeding Muiz who laid the foundation of Cemerlang, Naylee aims to take the site to the next level by producing more content and forums with a strong focus on education paths, career development and lifestyle. These genres are popular among students, alumni and Cemerlang readers.
“Aside from being one of the best creative writers I know, I think that Naylee has a ton of amazing ideas to bring to Cemerlang” says Muiz. He added that he is keen to see what Naylee has in store for the readers.
When asked what Naylee hopes to achieve for Cemerlang, she says that the online magazine should be a hub that provides a platform for youths to speak freely on current issues that matter to them. She also plans to open up Cemerlang to audience beyond KYS.
“Moving forward, I’m excited about the many collaborations with other schools and alumni bodies that will benefit a wider audience.” Naylee says.
“The magazine (Cemerlang) is in good hands.” Muiz concludes.
